Sawyer’s Creek Mission, Values, and Beliefs

  • A man singing into a microphone during a performance or church service, with a woman standing in the background.

    We Are

We are a Spirit lead, worship oriented, and family focused church founded on Biblical teaching.

  • A young man wearing glasses and a blue Nike shirt standing at a podium with a bear logo, speaking into a microphone during a graduation ceremony, with a musical band seated behind him and a graduation congratulation slide projected on a screen.

    Mission

    Share Jesus + Serve Others

  • A man and a girl are in a baptismal pool, smiling and laughing as the man baptizes the girl with water.

    Values

    We teach the Bible.

We do our best because God deserves our best.

We promote the gathering of the church, because we are not designed to go through life alone.

We add value to our local community through serving.

    We choose joy over drama.

We make platforms for the next generation to build their ministries upon.

We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere that honors others, regardless of where they are on their faith journey.

    We are contributors not consumers.

We put the needs of others ahead of our own.

We help other churches to become what Jesus wants them to be.

We give praise, not performance, in our worship.

  • Open Bible, notebook, and pen on a wooden table near houseplants and a window.

    Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God.

We believe in preaching and teaching the Bible in a manner that accurately communicates God's intended message to His creation.

We believe that there is one eternal God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe that the church is a local body of believers associated by a covenant in faith.

We believe that men and women should serve the church using their unique talents and gifts. This includes women teaching the Bible and serving as Deacons.

We believe that baptism is an outward expression of the salvation that already occurred in a person’s life.

We believe in observing the Lord's Supper on a regular basis.

We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every believer to make disciples of all people.

We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman unified in Christ.

We believe that the giving of our time, talents, and resources is an act of worship.
